Hello my name is Pete and I started this site to help new users as well as experienced welders navigate the multitude of products and equipment now available for home use.
I’ve been involved with welding for well over 20 years working for one of the largest mechanical contractors based in NY. We still own and operate several fabrication shops pushing several thousand inches of welded pipe per year. While we do employ many automated and exotic methods in our shops, our core processes are still MIG/TIG and of course Stick welding in the field.
I want to share what we’ve learned over the years having deployed dozens of different kinds (and brands) of welders both in and out of a dedicated shop environment. Enjoy the articles and I hope they take some of the guesswork out of purchasing a new welding machine or accessory.
